Dave Potts

Brother Dave Potts was born in Salisbury, North Carolina. He attended Boyden High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. At UNC-CH he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education with a concentration in Chemistry. He taught seventh grade science for three years where the money and the prestige were too much to handle so he went to work for a furniture manufacturer. After twenty years in furniture manufacturing, he started his own computer consulting firm where his is still consulting to a limited client base. During all this time Dave was an adjunct faculty member at Rowan Cabarrus Community College teaching in various disciplines from electronics to astronomy.

Dave has two children, seven granddaughters, a deceased grandson, and four great granddaughters.

Dave was raised in Andrew Jackson Lodge No. 576 in February of 1985. He was immediately appointed to pro-tem for the Junior Steward, and was Master of Andrew Jackson Lodge in 1991. He became a Certified Lecturer in 1986, and was Grand Lecturer in 2013. Dave is also a member of Sophia Lodge No. 767 and an honorary member of Fulton Lodge No. 99. He is a member of the York Rite, Scottish Rite, Oasis Shrine, Rowan County Shrine Club, and the Oasis Past Master’s Unit. Dave currently serves as the secretary of the Board of Custodians.
