Bill Brunk

Most Worshipful Bill Brunk has been active in most areas of Masonry since he joined Hiram Lodge No. 40 some thirty-five years ago. He served the lodge as Master in 1986 and was installed as Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of North Carolina in April of 1994. With a keen interest in the moral and philosophic aspects of the fraternity, he has been a leader in the appendant bodies and currently serves the Scottish Rite as Sovereign Grand Inspector General in North Carolina and as Grand Minister of State for the Supreme Council. In the York Rite, he served as Grand Commander of the Grand Commandery of Knights Templar of North Carolina in 2006.

After spending his formative years in Charlotte, Bill graduated in 1967 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Chemistry and went on to receive a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree followed by graduate training in the specialty area of Orthodontics. Bill settled in Raleigh, where he was engaged in the private practice of orthodontics until his retirement at the end of 2013, when he moved to Lake Norman. He and Sharyn have four adult children and eight grandchildren.
